While you can't eat the castor bean, the vegetable oil extracted from it is non-toxic and has many beneficial properties for your skin, hair, scalp, eyelashes and nails.
How do I use my bottle of castor oil?
- To hair roots as a hair mask - Apply directly to your hair roots and lengths. Gently massage your scalp to spread the product and make it penetrate. This step is very important, as massaging the scalp will dilate the pores, allowing the product to penetrate better without leaving a greasy residue. Leave on for at least 30 minutes, then wash your hair with your usual routine.
Why? Castor oil has toning properties and will help hair strengthen itself to prevent hair loss and increase regrowth. Castor oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids 6 and 9, so it deeply nourishes and repairs dry, damaged, split ends and lackluster hair. - For nails to strengthen and increase growth - Apply a pump of product regularly to your nails and cuticles, making sure to massage the product in circularly and gently.
Why? Castor oil on nails helps them grow in better conditions and makes them stronger. This oil, made up of fatty acids and naturally rich in Omega 6, Omega 9 and vitamin E give it undeniable protective and curativequalities. Nourishing and moisturizing, it works deep down to make nails more resistant. This oil is a good remedy for soft, brittle or split nails.
- For eyelashes and eyebrows to increase growth - With a clean eyelash brush, apply the product in the evening, first along the length of the lashes and then at the base of the lashes on the outside of the upper and lower eyelids. Be careful not to let the oil come into contact with your eyes, as it can be irritating. Repeat the same process for your eyebrows.
Why? Castor oil has a number of virtues, including moisturizing, strengthening, thickening and accelerating the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. In fact, it contains a high concentration of ricinoleic acid, an essential fatty acid.
What sets it apart from other oils?
Ricin oil is versatile; you can use it for skin, hair, nails, eyelashes or even eyebrows as a daily skin care product or as an occasional hair mask. However, castor oil is very thick and viscous, so it's not recommended for use as a detangler.
